We are situated on Solway Coast which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  We enjoy fabulous views across the estuary to Scotland, and are at the end / beginning of the Hadrians Wall Trail. Bowness is popular with walkers and cyclists alike.

Guests can enjoy the wildlife of the area- it is a birdwatchers' paradise. At the western end of the village is the RSPB Nature Reserve.

Bowness on Solway is a quiet village but there is a good bus service into the border city of Carlisle, famous for its Cathedral & Castle. The number 93 bus to & from Carlisle runs right past our front door.

As you enter Bowness on Solway from Port Carlisle, Maia Lodge is the bungalow on your left with the Hot Tub on the forecourt. Look out for our sign - visible from 200 yards away.
